The New Zealand men’s cricket team will begin its white-ball tour of Pakistan with a five-match T20 International (T20I) series starting on Friday, April 14. All matches will be available on TV as well as live streaming in India and begin at 7:30 PM IST.

The first three matches of the series will be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium while the remaining two will be hosted at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan - the 2022 T20 World Cup runner-up - suffered a shock 1-2 defeat at the hands of Afghanistan in UAE and will look to make amends in front of their fans against New Zealand. The Kiwis, meanwhile, defeated Sri Lanka 2-1 in their recently concluded home series and will be confident heading into the upcoming series against Pakistan.

While Pakistan is ranked third in ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, New Zealand is two places below them at fifth.

The two teams have gone head-to-head in T20Is 29 times. Pakistan won 18 while New Zealand was victorious on 11 occasions.

The last time Pakistan and New Zealand faced off in the T20Is was in the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup semi-finals in Australia. Pakistan won the match by seven wickets in the last over.

Pakistan will be led by Babar Azam and Shadab Khan will be his deputy. Babar Azam was rested for the T20Is against Afghanistan. Shaheen Shah Afridi is also set to play for Pakistan for the first time since the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

New Zealand will be led by captain Tom Latham in the series. Bowlers Matt Henry, Adam Milne, and Ish Sodhi along with all-rounders Daryl Mitchell and James Neesham will be some of New Zealand’s top players.

The five-match T20I series will be followed by a five-match One Day International (ODI) series. New Zealand’s tour of Pakistan will conclude on May 7.
