The inaugural edition of Ninety-90 Bash will start in May, 2022 and run till June, 2022 in UAE, the tournament organisers announced on Tuesday, November 30.

The upcoming 90-ball an innings tournament has been sanctioned by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).

All the matches of the new cricket league will be held at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium. It will be organised in partnership by the Sharjah Cricket Council and Century Events and Sports.

The Ninety-90 Bash is the collective brainchild of three leading regional entrepreneurs – the father of UAE cricket Abdul Rahman Bukhatir, Salman Iqbal, CEO of the ARY Group, and Imran Chaudhry, managing director of the Cinergie Group of companies.

It will feature several cricketing icons, emerging players and renowned global business houses that are expected to be associated with the league.

“Having recently hosted some of the most exciting games in the Indian T20 League and T20 World Cup, we have witnessed the growing interest in the shorter format. With the Ninety-90 bash, we are looking forward to sustaining the momentum and giving cricket fans in the UAE what they want - sharp, edgy and action-packed cricketing action from some of the biggest names who thrive in these shorter formats of the game,” Sharjah Cricket Stadium CEO Khalaf Bukhatir said.

On Tuesday, the signing ceremony of the 90-Ninety Bash was attended by ECB chairman HH Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, ECB vice-chairman Khalid Al Zarooni, and HE Aref Al Awani, from Abu Sports Council along with League Owners - Salman Iqbal, Abdul Rehman Bukhatir, Khalaf Bukhatir and Imran Chaudhary.

The Ninety-90 Bash is expected to offer local cricket fans in the United Arab Emirates a timely, fantastic, and undoubtedly thrilling tournament in the summer.
