The New Zealand Women vs England Women ODI 2024 series will start in Wellington on Monday, April 1.
The upcoming three-match ODI series is a part of the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25.
With seven wins in 15 matches, the New Zealand women's national cricket team is currently placed fourth in the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25 standings with 16 points.
The England women's national cricket team, on the other hand, has registered seven wins, suffered four defeats while one game ended in no result. They are placed fifth in the standings with 15 points.
Currently ranked fifth in the ICC women’s ODI team rankings, New Zealand Women will be led by star all-rounder Sophie Devine.
Rosemary Mair and Brooke Halliday have also made a comeback to the ODI squad.
Additionally, middle-order batter Georgia Plimmer will feature in the ODI series after she missed out in the T20I series.
Meanwhile, England Women will be brimming with confidence after they thrashed New Zealand Women 4-1 in the recently-concluded five-match T20I series.
Ranked second in the ICC women’s ODI team rankings, the visitors will once again be led by Heather Knight as they aim to continue their dominance over the Kiwis.
Right-arm pacer Kate Cross has been included in England Women’s ODI squad.
The likes of Nat Sciver-Brunt, Danni Wyatt, Tammy Beaumont, Alice Capsey, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Sarah Glenn and Amy Jones are the other notable inclusions in the squad.
As per the schedule, the first ODI will be played at the Basin Reserve in Wellington while the second and third ODIs will be hosted at the Seddon Park in Hamilton.

England Women hold a superior head-to-head record against New Zealand Women in ODI cricket, winning 41 of the 79 matches that they have played so far. New Zealand Women have registered 36 victories. One ODI was tied while the other game ended in no result.
The last time these two sides met in a 50-over format, England Women defeated New Zealand Women by one wicket during an ICC Women's World Cup clash in Auckland in March 2022.
