The Nepal Women’s cricket team will play a three-match T20 series against the Sri Lanka Development Squad as part of its preparations for the upcoming Women’s Asia Cup 2024 to be held in Sri Lanka from July 19.

The Nepal Women will arrive early in the island nation and spend around 10 days with the Sri Lanka Development Squad as part of its build-up to the continental T20 competition.

The itinerary includes three T20 matches along with practice sessions scheduled in between. The T20 matches will be played on July 9, 10 and 16 with Surrey Village hosting all the games.

The Nepal team was last seen in action at the 16-team Asian Cricket Council Women’s Premier Cup 2024 where it reached the semi-finals before losing out to Malaysia Women by four wickets.

The 15-member Nepal team will be led by Indu Barma in the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 T20 tournament.

Nepal will play against the United Arab Emirates in the first match of the continental event, which will be a key tournament for the teams that will take part in the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh later in the year.

Nepal are placed in Group A of the Asia Cup alongside defending champions India, Pakistan and UAE.
