Nepal will take on Papua New Guinea in the Nepal T20I Tri-Nation Series 2022 final at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal on Monday, April 4. 

Under the leadership of Sandeep Lamichhane, the Nepal cricket team has been the most dominant side in the Tri-Nation T20I series, winning all its four matches so far. With eight points from four matches, the hosts finished at the top of the standings and qualified for the final.

On the other hand, Assad Vala’s Papua New Guinea have squeezed into the summit clash after beating Malaysia by eight wickets in their last group match and secure their place after pipping Malaysia on net run rate.

Dipendra Singh Airee has been the standout batter for Nepal in the Tri-Nation T20I series, amassing 201 runs in four matches at an impressive average of 67. For Papua New Guinea, Tony Ura has been the leading run-scorer so far, aggregating 190 runs in four matches at an average of 63.33.

In the bowling department, Karan KC has been the wrecker-in-chief for Nepal, picking 10 wickets in four matches at an economy of 8.41. Meanwhile, Kabua Morea has been the top wicket-taker for PNG, bagging seven wickets in four matches at an economy of 8.18.

Nepal have defeated Papua New Guinea in both their meetings in the ongoing Nepal T20I Tri-Nation Series 2022 and will start as overwhelming favourites to clinch the title.
