The Nepal national cricket team will lock horns with Oman in their second game of the ongoing ICC CWC League 2 Tri-Series in Ontario, Canada on Wednesday, September 18.

Led by captain Rohit Paudel, Nepal will aim to bounce back after suffering a 103-run defeat against hosts Canada in the first match of their second ICC CWC League 2 Tri-Series played at the Maple Leaf Cricket Ground in Ontario on Monday.
Captain Nicholas Kirton smashed 73 off just 44 balls along with contributions from Navneet Dhaliwal (48), Dillon Heyliger (30) and Harsh Thaker (27) to help Canada post a competitive total of 253/8 in their 50 overs.
Pacer Sompal Kami and left-arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi bagged two wickets each for Nepal.
In reply, Nepal were bowled out for 150 in 40.1 overs as they succumbed to their fourth defeat in the ongoing ICC CWC League 2.
With just a solitary victory in five matches, Nepal are currently languishing seventh in the ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 standings with two points on the board.
On the other hand, the Oman national cricket team will look to continue their winning momentum after they defeated Namibia by four wickets in their previous fixture in the ICC CWC League 2 in Dundee, Scotland in July.
Earlier, Oman kickstarted their ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 campaign in a tri-series that featured Scotland and Namibia.
While Oman’s opening game against Scotland was called off due to rain, the Aqib Ilyas-led side lost to Namibia by six wickets and later suffered an eight-wicket defeat against Scotland.
Having registered one win, two losses and one ended in no result, Oman are currently placed sixth in the ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 standings with three points.
As per the ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 format, the eight participating teams will compete in 24 tri-series’ of six matches each.
The top four teams in ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 will directly qualify for ICC World Cup 2027 Qualifier while the four bottom-placed teams will take part in the ICC World Cup Qualifier Play-off, effectively a repechage tournament also including the top four teams from the ICC World Cup Challenge League, the third tier of international 50-over cricket.
