The Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2024 began on Saturday, November 30 after Janakpur Bolts thrashed Biratnagar Kings by eight wickets in the opening match in Kirtipur, Nepal.
Organised by the Cricket Association of Nepal, the Nepal Premier League 2024 will see as many as eight teams compete in a total of 32 T20 matches.
Apart from Janakpur Bolts and Biratnagar Kings, Chitwan Rhinos, Karnali Yaks, Kathmandu Gurkhas, Lumbini Lions, Pokhara Avengers and Sudurpaschim Royals are the other teams that will feature in the inaugural edition of the NPL.
As per the NPL 2024 schedule, each team will play the other seven sides once in a single round-robin format. The top four teams in the standings after all the league matches will qualify for the NPL 2024 playoffs.
The third-placed team will lock horns against the fourth-placed side in the Eliminator on December 18 while the top two teams will square off in the Qualifier 1 on the same day for a place in the final.
The winner of the Eliminator will then face the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2 for the other spot in the final.
The Nepal Premier League 2024 final is scheduled to be held on December 21.
All NPL 2024 matches will be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan (Karnali Yaks), the New Zealand duo of Martin Guptill (Biratnagar Kings) and James Neesham (Janakpur Bolts), Ben Cutting (Lumbini Lions), Bas De Leede and Andries Gous (Pokhara Avengers) are some of the prominent that will participate in the upcoming franchise T20 cricket league.

The Nepal Premier League will follow a single round-robin format during the league phase.
