Malaysia women's cricket team is all set to welcome Nepal women’s cricket team for a five-match T20I series, starting Monday, May 29.

The upcoming series promises to be exciting, with both teams fancying their winning chances. Malaysia has won each of their last three completed outings, while Nepal will be slight favourites as they look stronger of the two teams on paper.

Nepal will be making a return to competitive cricket after a long layoff. They last featured at the Asian Cricket Council Women's T20 Championship in June 2022, winning three matches in the competition to progress to the semi-final that was called off due to rain.

They also beat Uganda’s women 2-0 in a five-match T20I series prior to Asian Cricket Council Women's T20 Championship and are currently ranked 16th in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings, while Malaysia is ranked 28th.

Nepal will be led by skipper Rubina Chhetri, who seems to be in good touch after solid performances in the Fairbreak Women’s Invitational T20.

Sita Rana Magar, Sangita Rai, and Shristi Jaisi are a few more players from Nepal who could have a big impact on this five-match series.

Malaysia, on the other hand, will be captained by Winifred Duraisingam, whose all-round abilities will play a crucial role in determining the fortune of her team. Wan Julia, who generally opens the batting for Malaysia is another player to keep an eye on.

All matches in this series will be held at the YSD-UKM Oval in Malaysia and the start time for these games is 8:30 AM IST. The final match of the series will take place on Sunday, June 4.
