The Malaysia Open T20I Championship 2024 is scheduled to start on March 5 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Organised by the Malaysia Cricket Association (MCA), as many as five teams will compete in a total of 12 matches across seven days.

Hosts Malaysia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tanzania and Vanuatu are the teams that will participate in the Malaysia Open T20I Championship 2024. 

All these teams recently took part in the 2024 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-off competition held in Malaysia.

The hosts are the top-ranked team in the competition and are currently placed 25th in the ICC Men’s T20I team rankings. Kuwait and Bahrain are placed below Malaysia in the 26th and 27th spot, respectively.

Tanzania are placed 33rd in the rankings while Vanuatu are the lowest ranked team in the tournament and are placed 47th in the rankings.

As per the schedule each team will play the other four sides once in a single round-robin format. 

The top two teams in the standings will clash in the Malaysia Open T20I Championship 2024 final on March 11. The third and fourth-placed teams will also square off in the third-place playoff on the same day before the final.

All matches of the upcoming T20 tournament will be played at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.

Live streaming of the Malaysia Open T20I Championship 2024 will be available on the FanCode app and website.

There will be no live telecast of the upcoming T20 tournament on any TV channel in India.
