Legends Cricket Trophy 2024 began on March 8 and is set to continue till March 19 at Pallekele, Sri Lanka.
Seven teams are competing over a course of 22 games in a 90-ball format in what is the second edition of LCT.
The first season of the LCT saw six teams playing against each other in T20 format matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Ghaziabad.
Indore Knights and Guwahati Avengers were joint inaugural winners in 2023 after the final was washed out.
Meanwhile, all matches in the 2024 Legends Cricket Trophy are being held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
The seven teams that are participating in LCT 2024 are Colombo Lions, Delhi Devils, Dubai Giants, Kandy Samp Army, New York Superstar Strikers, Punjab Royals and Rajasthan Kings.
All teams will square off against the other six sides once in a single round-robin format with the top two sides in the standings after all the league matches are completed qualifying for the LCT 2024 final.
Chris Gayle (Colombo Lions), Suresh Raina (Delhi Devils), Harbhajan Singh (Dubai Giants), Aaron Finch (Kandy Samp Army), Yuvraj Singh (New York Superstar Strikers), Tillakaratne Dilshan (Punjab Royals) and Robin Uthappa (Rajasthan Kings) have been named as skippers and icons for the second edition of LCT.
Some of the other prominent players from the past who will feature in this tournament includes the likes of Ross Taylor, Shahid Afridi, Shaun Marsh, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Dan Cristian, Martin Guptill, Lendl Simmons, and Imran Tahir.
