Unbeaten in their last three games, Galle Gladiators take on defending champions Jaffna Kings in the Lanka Premier League 2021 final at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, December 23. The match will start at 7:30 PM IST.
Galle Gladiators recorded four wins in eight matches as they finished second in the league stage. Their next game came against Jaffna Kings in Qualifier 1, in which Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka both scored quick half-centuries.
The Gladiators scored 188/5 in 20 overs and bowler Nuwan Thushara did the rest, bagging five wickets in 3.5 overs as they won the match by 64 runs.
Jaffna Kings, meanwhile, finished the league stage at the top of the table but have already lost their previous three meetings with Galle Gladiators this season. The LPL 2021 final will be their fourth meeting against the Gladiators.
