The 23rd match of ECS T10 Kiel 2021 will see two teams opening their account for the season as Kummerfelder Sportverein (KSV) take on VFB Fallersleben (VFB) at the Kiel Cricket Ground on Saturday, June 5.
KSV are considered as one of the tournament favourites on account of their previous performances and pedigree in such competitions. Last year, the team won two tournaments, namely, ECS Kummerfeld and ECN Hannover Hitout. In the latter competition, they were undefeated throughout the campaign.

Last season, Shoaib Azam Khan of KSV was a destructive batsman in ECS Kummerfeld as he accumulated 188 runs in seven matches at an average of 31.33. He scored at a strike rate of 197.89 and one can count on him to give excessive fantasy points when he takes the field against VFB.
With Janardhan missing, the best possible option to go with from VFB for a batsman is Sandeep Vasisth. The batsman had scored 92 runs in ECS Kummerfeld last season and was his team’s second-highest run-scorer.
Top tip: Best bowler
KSV are expected to struggle in the bowling department given that most of their star bowlers from ECS Kummerfeld 2020 are unavailable. This makes a certain Israr Khan the player to watch. In five matches last year, he bowled seven overs and took five wickets.
Kaustubh Deshpande of VFB is the safest bet from his team as far as bowlers are concerned. While he could only pick three wickets last year, he kept his economy under 9.
Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper
ECS Kummerfeld was a productive tournament for Mussaddiq Ahmad of KSV. The batsman scored 220 runs in just five games at an average of 74 and a strike rate of almost 250. He scored three half-centuries and also picked five wickets in as many games, including a three-wicket haul.
For a wicket-keeper, KSV’s Saied Sadat could be the safest option to go with.
