Karthik clearly seems to have violated the clause of his central contract that prevents him from being associated with any private league other than the Indian T20 League.

Karthik was seen relaxing in the Port of Spain side’s dressing room wearing the team jersey along with Brendon McCullum during their match against Saint Kitts and Nevis side.

Responding to it, the wicket keeper-batsman has issued an apology, saying, “I wish to tender unconditional apology for not seeking permission from BCCI prior to embarking on this visit. I wish to reiterate that I have neither participated in any of the franchise’s activities nor played any role whatsoever for them,” he was quoted by PTI.

He has also informed in his statement that he went to the Port of Spain on coach Brendon McCullum’s request and watched the game wearing franchise’s jersey on former teammate’s request. He also assured BCCI that “he will not be seated in the team’s dressing room for the rest of the matches.”

Karthik is likely to get this matter cleared by the Committee of Administrators (CoA) as he has tendered an unconditional apology and has all his chances of representing Tamil Nadu in the National One Day Championship for Vijay Hazare Trophy, starting from 24th September.
