After retaining the Women’s Ashes, reigning world champions Australia Women will lock horns with Ireland Women in a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series starting on Sunday, July 23 in Dublin.
The upcoming ODI series is part of the 2022-25 ICC Women’s Championship. The third edition of the ICC Women’s Championship is being contested by 10 teams to determine qualification for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup to be held in India in 2025.
The Australia women's national cricket team will aim to bounce back after losing both the ODI and T20I series to arch-rivals England in the recently-concluded Women’s Ashes series.
While Australia and England ended the multi-format Women’s Ashes series level on eight points, the former retained the Women’s Ashes as they were the reigning holders of the urn.
World’s top-ranked women’s ODI side Australia will once again miss the services of their regular captain Meg Lanning and will be led by wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy.
Placed 11th in the ICC Women’s ODI rankings, the Ireland women's national cricket team will look to give strong competition and put on a good show as they prepare to host Australia Women for the first time since 2005.
Ireland Women have announced a 14-member ODI squad to be led by Laura Delany.
All three ODIs of the Australia Women tour of Ireland 2023 will be played at Castle Avenue cricket ground in Dublin.
