The Ireland Inter-Provincial T20 Trophy 2024 begins on May 1, with Munster Reds and Leinster Lightning squaring off in the inaugural match of the tournament.
Four teams are battling for supremacy in this competition and these sides are North West Warriors, Munster Reds, Leinster Lightning, and Northern Knights.
As per the format of the tournament, each team will face off against the others thrice over the course of the 18-match tournament, which ends on September 10.
The team finishing atop the standings at the conclusion of these matches will be crowned the winner of this 50-over per side contest, the Ireland Inter-Provincial Limited Over Cup 2023.
The squads of all participating teams boast notable Irish talents. For instance, Leinster Lightning features current Ireland players such as Andrew Balbirnie, Harry Tector, and all-rounder George Dockrell. The Munster Reds boast talents like Gareth Delaney and Curtis Campher.
Under the leadership of Andy McBrine, the North West Warriors field a team comprising experienced campaigners like Craig Young and Conor Olphert. Meanwhile, the Northern Knights have players of the caliber of Mark Adair and Paul Stirling.
Civil Service Cricket Club, Stormont, Belfast, Pembroke Cricket Club, Sandymount, Dublin, Bready Cricket Club, Bready, Oak Hill Cricket Club, Wicklow, Mardyke Cricket Club, Cork, and Eglinton Cricket Club, Eglinton are the six venues for the tournament.
Northern Knights are the defending champions after winning the 2023 edition of the tournament, while Leinster Lightning are the most successful team in the competition’s history with seven triumphs.
