The Indian women’s cricket team’s tour of New Zealand will begin with a one-off T20I on February 9.

The tour, which also comprises a five-match ODI series, will be India’s final assignment before the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in March.

Captain Mithali Raj will lead a 15-member team for India women’s tour of New Zealand. The same squad will participate in the upcoming World Cup.

The notable absentees in the India squad are experienced fast bowler Shikha Pandey and batter Jemimah Rodrigues. Yastika Bhatia has come into the team for Jemimah on account of her performances against Australia.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the vice-captain for India in the 50-over format, will skipper India in the one-off T20I.

The New Zealand women’s cricket team’s 15-member squad for the India series and the subsequent World Cup will be captained by Sophie Devine. While the squad is a mix of youth and experience, Devine will be supported by the experienced Suzie Bates and Amy Satterthwaite, who has been appointed as vice-captain.

New Zealand have also taken a surprise call to include 17-year-old Fran Jonas in place of seasoned off-spinner Leigh Kasperek.

All matches of the multi-format tour will be played at the John Davies Oval in Queenstown.
