Team Hyderabad have defeated Team Rajasthan by seven wickets to register their second victory of the 2021 Indian T20 League

Rajasthan had won the toss and decided to bat first. Although it was a rather slow start, the team bounced back with captain Sanju Samson scoring 82 off 57 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal played his part too as Rajasthan posted 164/5 on board.

Making his debut in Hyderabad colours, England opener Jason Roy played a fantastic partnership with Wriddhiman Saha before Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma guided their team to glory.

"It was a decent score, said Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson after the game.

"The wicket was sticky, and they were bowling well. We could have got 10 or 20 more actually. The last overs was the difference - you can say that. I wanted to keep going, but we kept losing one or two wickets. We got the target which we were aiming for after the time-out. We definitely need to work a lot on our batting and bowling. We need to be at our best with each and every ball. We need to lift our standards."

Here's how the match panned out:

Still a long way to go for Hyderabad

Despite the win, Hyderabad remain eighth in the standings.

Nevertheless, it was an uplifting win for Hyderabad. Williamson played a steady innings and Jason Roy did his part too, scoring 60 off 42 balls on his Hyderabad debut.

What happened there, Abhishek?

Abhishek Sharma explains the muddle that almost dismissed Kane Williamson.

"Kane was just telling me a lot of things - he is a great captain - and he was boosting my confidence. I said one, but later said no [during the mix-up]," he said.
