Bangalore clinch a memorable seven-wicket win from the jaws of defeat against Delhi in match 56 of the Indian T20 League at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Put to bat first, Delhi put 164 on the board with openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan providing a strong start of 88/0 in 10 overs. Post the dismissal of Dhawan, wickets came tumbling and so did Delhi's run rate.

Bangalore, who lost Deepak Padikkal and Virat Kohli cheaply, made a slow comeback thanks to the efforts of KS Bharat and AB de Villiers. However, the tide of the match slowly shifted towards Bangalore's favour as Bharat (78*) combined with Glenn Maxwell (51*) to get the side to requiring 15 runs off the final over.

In true MS Dhoni style, Bharat smashed the final delivery of the game for a six to propel Bangalore to their 100th win in the Indian T20 League.

Bangalore have the last laugh!

A sixth career fifty for Glenn Maxwell

A maiden half-century for KS Bharat

A 100-run stand for the 4th wicket

Six off the last ball!

Bangalore stay true to their faith as they complete a sensational seven-wicket victory in style.

Delhi could have rounded off a comfortable win but the pressure got the better of a young Avesh Khan.

This result means Bangalore will face Kolkata in the eliminator, while the top two teams in Delhi and Chennai will battle in the first qualifier on Sunday, October 10.

That's it from us here at SportsAdda. Goodnight and goodbye.

Lucky charm? Maxwell dropped TWICE!

Bangalore will take confidence from the fact that Glenn Maxwell can possibly be the match-winner, courtesy of two drop catches.

Delhi and Axar Patel are looking for answers as the Big Show remained safe at the start and the end of the 14th over.

WICKET! Will the Bangalore ship sink?

Bangalore's hope of maintaining a steady flow of runs has met a dead end as AB de Villiers departs for 26.

Axar Patel's back of a length delivery forces de Villiers to go for a pull shot but flies towards deep mid-wicket, where Shreyas Iyer receives the ball in his safe pair of hands.

Seems like the strategic timeout has brought out a new match-winning formula: Spin.

Strategic timeout called in! Bangalore slowly settling in

When AB de Villiers is at the crease, one can expect fireworks. And, the Proteas didn't disappoint as he has registered two boundaries and a maximum in his ongoing knock of 26.

Srikar Bharat is providing quality support for ABD with 21 runs in as many deliveries.

Delhi, who did well to restrict Bangalore to 29/2 in the Powerplay overs, are slowly getting complacent but need to keep the run rate below five to have a realistic shot at a win.

End of Powerplay overs! Delhi in control

Delhi have stamped their authority, restricting Bangalore to maintain a net run rate below five in the Powerplay overs.

The dismissals of Deepak Padikkal and Virat Kohli have changed the dynamics of the Bangalore batting but the presence of AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell could yet pose a threat to Rishabh Pant and Co.

WICKET! Virat Kohli departs

Anrich Nortje strikes once again, with Bangalore captain Virat Kohli the latest victim. A length delivery towards off stump pushes Kohli to slice it up into the air towards mid-on, where Kagiso Rabada completes the easiest of catches.

Deepak Padikkal's struggles against short ball deliveries continue after he lifts the Anrich Nortje delivery towards the leg side, which finds the safe hands of Ravichandran Ashwin.
