Chennai beat Bangalore by 6 wickets at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE to register their seventh win of the Indian T20 League 2021 season.
Chasing 157 for victory, Chennai rode on the 71-run opening stand between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis on a wicket that offered plenty of assistance for spinners. Despite Chennai losing wickets at regular intervals, their batsmen kept the scoreboard ticking putting pressure on the Bangalore side who gifted some easy runs with ordinary fielding effort.
With the win, Chennai move to the top of the standings level with Delhi on 14 points while Bangalore remain at third spot with 10 points.
