Winless in each of their last four outings, Rohit Sharma’s Team Mumbai will hope for a positive result in match 23 of the Indian T20 League 2022 when they take on Team Punjab at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Wednesday, April 13. The match will start at 7:30 PM IST.

Mumbai have made the worst possible start to the new Indian T20 League campaign. The team has struggled to cope with the intensity and despite playing four games, have failed to establish a match-winning order.

This has been mainly due to the fact that several of their first-team regulars are no longer with the team. This includes the likes of Krunal Pandya and Trent Boult.

Mumbai vs Punjab recent form

Mumbai are one of the two teams this term alongside Chennai who are yet to win a match.

Contrary to that form, Punjab have, in fact, registered two wins in four matches. This includes crucial victories over Team Bangalore in their tournament opener followed by an impressive 54-run win against Chennai.

Mumbai vs Punjab head-to-head

Mumbai and Punjab have played a total of 28 matches in the Indian T20 League where the record champions have won 15 matches, while Punjab have emerged victorious on 12 occasions.

Interestingly, Punjab have won two of their last three matches against Mumbai.

Given the form Mumbai are in at the moment, it’s no surprise that the odds are against them for Wednesday’s encounter. Everything on paper, including Punjab’s recent record against Mumbai, is putting the Mayank Agarwal-led team in the driving seat.

If their batsmen tick, they can rightly beat Mumbai for the third time in four matches.
