The Indian T20 League 2022 mega auction has concluded, with a total of 204 players sold out of the 600 players listed in the auction list.

The second day was emphatic as it could be, with a whopping 551.7 crores spent in the accelerated auction. It is worth noting that Day 2 saw 130 players find takers, with Liam Livingstone being the biggest purchase (INR 11.50 crore).

Interestingly, 137 Indian cricketers and 97 uncapped players were sold which is a sign of the Indian T20 League's commitment to providing a stage for homegrown talent to showcase their worth to the cricket audience.

Of all the bids, Mumbai's INR 8 crore capture of Jofra Archer was the biggest headline-grabber as it indicated a new powerhouse bowling pairing between him and Jasprit Bumrah. 

Furthermore, the final round of the Indian T20 League 2022 mega auction saw Hugh Edmeades return to take over his auctioneer duties from stand-in auctioneer Charu Sharma.

The Indian T20 League 2022 mega auction comes to a close!

Out of the total 600 players auctioned, only 204 players managed to be signed by Indian T20 League teams.

Indian cricketers fetched major bids as seen with Ishan Kishan, Deepak Chahar and Avesh Khan.

In the overseas pool, Liam Livingstone stood as the most expensive player as Punjab signed him for INR 11.5 crore.

9:05 PM: Aman Khan is the final player to be sold

Aman Khan to Kolkata is the final deal of the Indian T20 League 2022 mega auction.

The uncapped player is sold to the two-time champions for a fee of INR 20 lakh.

9:03 PM: Daryl Mitchell, Siddharth Kaul sold for base price

Siddharth Kaul will now ply his trade with Bangalore as the side bought him for his base price of INR 75 lakh.

Elsewhere, Daryl Mitchell also found an Indian T20 League team in Rajasthan who recruited him for INR 75 lakh.

9 PM: Delhi rope in another U-19 World Cup star

After signing U19 World Cup captain Yash Dhull, Delhi have purchased spinner Vicky Ostwal for his base price of INR 20 lakh.

8:57 PM: Coulter-Nile, van der Dussen join Rajasthan

Rajasthan have added more firepower to their batting ranks with the captures of Nathan Coulter-Nile and Rassie van der Dussen for a combined fee of INR 3 crore.

8:55 PM: Kolkata buy Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Nabi

Kolkata add more depth to their bowling order buy signing pacer Umesh Yadav (INR 2 crore) and spin all-rounder Mohammad Nabi (INR 1 crore) for their respective base prices.

One final round remains.....

Chennai and Punjab have reached their upper limit of players (25 players).

While Team Lucknow have exhausted their budget, hence they too are out of the running in the final session of Indian T20 League 2022 mega auction.

Hyderabad, meanwhile, are technically out of the final bidding process as they have only 10 lakh left.

The minimum base price is 20 lakh for the remaining players, and we shall see six teams - Bangalore, Delhi, Gujarat, Kolkata, Mumbai and Rajasthan - in business for the final hours of the auction.

8:20 PM: Arjun Tendulkar returns to Mumbai

All-rounder Arjun Tendulkar has re-joined Team Mumbai for INR 30 lakh.

The five-time winners put the first bid, like in the last auction, but had to put another bid to get the youngster back into the side.

8:05 PM: Tim Southee returns to Kolkata

Seasoned New Zealand pacer Tim Southee will continue his journey with Team Kolkata as they have signed him for his base price of INR 1.5 crore.
