The India women cricket team are all set to host the South Africa women cricket team for a three-match ODI series, starting on Saturday, June 16.
Ranked third as per the ICC women’s ODI rankings, South Africa will have to be at their best to get the better of hosts and fifth-ranked India.
The Indian team will head into the 50-over series against South Africa after a 5-0 clean sweep against Bangladesh in T20Is in May.
India’s last ODI assignment against Australia though was less memorable as they suffered a 0-3 series defeat.
On the other hand, South Africa played out a 1-1 draw against Sri Lanka in their last outing in the 50-over format.
India will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur, while the likes of Jemimah Rodriguez and Pooja Vastrakar spots in the playing XI subject to fitness concerns.
South Africa, meanwhile, will be led by Laura Wolvaardt but will be missing the services of Chloe Tryon, Ayanda Hlubi and Lara Goodall due to injuries. Uncapped players such as Mieke de Ridder and Annerie Dercksen are also a part of the 50-over squad.
All matches in the India women vs South Africa women ODI series will be held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

While India women have won 15 matches, South Africa women have claimed 12 wins. One match between these teams ended in no result.
