The Indian cricket team will take on the world’s top-ranked T20I team England in the third encounter of the five-match series at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday, March 16.

After a demoralising eight-wicket defeat in the first T20I, Virat Kohli-led Team India bounced back in emphatic fashion as the hosts defeated England by seven wickets to level the five-match series 1-1. Both the fixtures were held at the newly named Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera.

Rohit Sharma, who was rested for the first two matches after having played six consecutive Test matches along with 14 days of hard quarantine at the start of the Australia tour, is expected to return to the playing XI in place of out-of-form KL Rahul.

That will make four Mumbai cricketers in the line up as Rohit Sharma will join Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer and Shardul Thakur in the playing XI.

India will also be boosted by Ishan Kishan’s heroics in the second T20I match, where his fifty earned him a man of the match on debut. Virat Kolhi, meanwhile, also credited Washington Sundar’s tight bowling at the death for the team’s success.

On the other hand, the visitors might give an opportunity to their experienced all-rounder Moeen Ali and drop either Chris Jordan or Tom Curran, who were expensive in the last T20I at the same venue.
