Led by captain Rohit Sharma, India played two unofficial warm-up matches against Western Australia XI in Perth. While the Men in Blue won the opening warm-up game by 13 runs, they suffered a 36-run defeat in the second game on Wednesday, October 12.

India’s premier fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who has replaced injured Jasprit Bumrah in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad, is expected to feature in the playing XI against Australia in Brisbane.

Former India captain Virat Kohli, who was rested in both the unofficial warm-up matches, is also expected to play against the defending T20 world champions.

The Aaron Finch-led Australia lost the first two T20Is by eight runs while the final encounter of the three-match series was abandoned due to rain.
