The India cricket schedule 2024 is jam-packed for both men’s and women’s teams this year.
Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the Indian men’s cricket team will aim to continue their impressive run, having reached the final of the ICC World Test Championship and the ICC ODI World Cup in 2023.
On the other hand, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian women’s cricket team ended 2023 on a record-breaking note as they defeated Australia and England in one-off Test matches at home.
With 2024 being a T20 World Cup year, the men's and women's Indian cricket teams have a hectic schedule ahead of them as they are set to compete in multiple bilateral series at home and away across all three formats.
Meanwhile, both the men's and women's team will have the opportunity to end India's long-standing drought of an ICC trophy with the respective T20 World Cup tournaments lined-up.
India last won an ICC Trophy under MS Dhoni when they clinched the ICC Champions Trophy in England and Wales in 2013.
Apart from the T20 World Cups, the Indian men’s cricket team is scheduled to face South Africa, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand and Australia in Test cricket as part of the third edition of the ICC World Test Championship.
Rohit Sharma’s India went into 2024 with a 0-1 series deficit against South Africa in a two-match Test series.
Meanwhile, India will host England in a five-match Test series at home starting on January 25.
Following the Indian T20 League 2024, the men’s team will compete in the much-awaited ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be held in the West Indies and the United States in June.
On the other hand, the Indian women’s cricket team will begin their 2024 with three ODIs and as many T20Is against Australia at home.
The Women in Blue will later travel to Bangladesh to play the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in September.
