Australia, South Africa, England and West Indies are the four teams that have qualified for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 semi-finals held in New Zealand.
While Australia will lock horns with West Indies at Basin Reserve in Wellington on March 30, South Africa will take on England at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on March 31.
Six-time winners Australia continued their dominance in the tournament as they won all their seven matches in the group stage to finish on the top of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 standings with 14 points.
Meanwhile, South Africa knocked out last edition’s finalists India in their final group match to finish second in the standings with 11 points from seven games. They registered five wins, one loss while one match ended in no result.
England qualified for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 semi-finals after defeating Bangladesh women by 100 runs in their last group match to end up third in the standings with eight points from seven games.
After suffering losses in their first three matches, the England side bounced back with four consecutive wins to book their place in the last four.
On the other hand, West Indies squeezed into the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 semi-finals after South Africa beat India in the final group match of the tournament. The Caribbean outfit thus finished fourth in the standings with seven points from as many games.
West Indies have qualified for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 semi-finals for the second time in the history of the tournament.
The ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 final will be played at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on April 3.
