The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 group stage culminated on February 22 after South Africa beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets in the Group 1 match.

After all the drama in the initial part of the tournament, India Women, Australia Women, England Women and South Africa Women confirmed their spots in the semi-finals at the Protea nation.

The Indian women’s cricket team beat West Indies, Pakistan and Ireland in Group 2 to make the semi-finals as the second-placed team. The England women’s cricket team, meanwhile, won all their four games, which included an emphatic 114-run success against Pakistan, to finish atop the Group 2 points table.

The Australian women’s cricket team is the most successful team in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. They, too, won all four of their matches in Group 1, defeating South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to rank first in the points table.

On the other hand, the South African women’s cricket team made the semi-finals in the last group stage match of this edition. The massive win over Bangladesh allowed them to finish second in Group 1 on Net Run Rate (NRR), beating the Kiwis and the Lankans to the punch.

Now in the semis, Australia Women will take on India Women in the first game in a repeat of the 2020 edition final. High-flying England Women, meanwhile, face off against South Africa Women in the second semi-final.

The semi-finals are scheduled for February 23 and 24, 2023, at Cape Town. Winners of the two semis will advance to the final, which will also be played in Cape Town on February 26. All three matches will begin at 6:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).
