The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier B 2022-23 will start on July 24 and conclude on July 31.
Featuring 10 teams, a total of 24 matches will be played across eight days. The 10 teams have been divided into two groups of five teams each.
While Group 1 includes Austria, Bulgaria, Guernsey, Luxembourg and Slovenia, Group 2 is made up of the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Norway and Switzerland.
Like the concluded Qualifier C and Qualifier A competitions, the upcoming Qualifier B tournament is part of the qualification process for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be hosted by the West Indies and USA in June.
As per the schedule, each team will play the other four sides in their group once in a round-robin format. While the top two teams in each group qualify directly for the final, the other eight teams - overall - will be involved in the play-offs.
The fourth-placed teams in Group 1 and 2 play the 7th Place play-off, while third-ranked teams lock horns in the 5th Place play-off. The 3rd Place play-off will see the runner-up of Group 1 face the runner-up of Group 2.
The eventual winner of the tournament will progress to the regional final, where they will be joined by Denmark (Qualifier C winner) and Italy (Qualifier A winner) - as well as Jersey and Germany, who have already secured a direct entry into the regional final.
If Ireland, the Netherlands and Scotland fail to qualify directly for the 2024 tournament, they will be involved in the regional final. The top two teams at the end of the regional finals will qualify for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
All the matches of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier B 2022-23 will be played at two venues in Finland - Tikkurila Cricket Ground in Vantaa and Kerava National Cricket Ground in Kerava.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier B 2022-23 final is scheduled to be played at the Kerava National Cricket Ground on July 31.
