Former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin has been appointed as the assistant coach by the Indian T20 League’s Hyderabad franchise. He has prior experience of coaching Australia A and was also the fielding coach of the Australian cricket team for two years since 2017.

Tom Moody, who was around for six years with the Hyderabad franchise, got replaced by Trevor Bayliss as the head coach of the team. Haddin will reunite with Bayliss after years, as their association goes back to their time with the Sydney Sixers, where the former was the captain and the latter was the coach. Together, they had also won the 2012 Champions League Twenty20 title.

Haddin announced his retirement from ODIs soon after his team won the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup on home soil. After being dropped from the Test side during the 2015 Ashes, which Australia lost 3-2, Haddin announced his retirement from Test cricket as well.

The 41-year-old has played in 66 Test matches over the course of his career, scoring 3266 runs in the process. In ODIs, he has amassed 3122 runs from 126 matches.
