The Green Afghanistan One Day Cup 2023 will begin on April 29 and concludes on May 17.
The second edition of the tournament is slated to have four teams in action instead of three, which was the case in the inaugural season that took place in the Khost province.
Organised by the Afghanistan Cricket Board, this tournament aims to promote and develop the cultivation of plants in the country while also serving as ideal preparation for the AfghanAtalan’s international events.
The upcoming tournament will take place in the Khost Cricket Stadium and the four teams that will be participating in Season 2 are Hindukush Strikers, Pamir Legends, Maiwand Defenders, and Junior Champions.
This 19-day tournament will be played in a 50-over format with a total of 13 matches slated to take place. Each team will square off twice against the others in a round-robin format and the top two sides after these games will contest the final.
All teams in the Green Afghanistan One Day Cup will have national-level players competing against each other while also developing and promoting young and emerging talents.
This Green Afghanistan One Day Cup was included in Afghanistan’s domestic structure last year and is a part of 13 different tournaments across varying age groups.
