Goteborg City (GOC) have set up a clash with in-form Ariana CC (ARI) in the first semi-final of ECS Sweden, Malmo T10 2021 at the Landskrona Cricket Club on Saturday, August 14.
GOC finished the league stage atop Group B with seven wins and just a lone loss in the stipulated eight matches. They finished with 14 points in total and were dominant when on the field.
ARI have also been quite consistent having won six and lost two matches out of a total of eight matches in the group stage. They finished second in Group A with 12 points.

Both sides look extremely strong and not much separates them. However, GOC have been more dominant in their performances and are entering the semi-final after a high-scoring match that will certainly boost their confidence ahead of Saturday’s do-or-die encounter. ARI are a good unit as well but they will have to play out of their skins to match the leaders from Group B. One can expect GOC to just shade ARI and secure a final berth.

Opener Rahim Safi is the batting mainstay in the GOC camp. He hammered a brilliant 29-ball 72 against Jonkoping in the quarter-final to seal the semis berth for his side. Fantasy team owners will be rating him highly ahead of the next encounter.
Mahmood Babar is a fine pick for the batsman category from the ARI camp. He scored an unbeaten 21-ball 40 in the quarter-final against Malmohus to set up an eight-wicket win and help his side progress to the semi-final.
Top tip: Best bowlers
Vikas Dixit can prove to be a smart pick for this contest. The GOC bowler bowled a decent spell in a high-scoring quarter-final and ended up taking an important wicket. He will be looking to continue his wicket-taking spree that would certainly interest fantasy lovers.
Yusuf Sahak is a key bowler in the ARI line-up. He bowled a fantastic spell of two overs and scalped three wickets for just nine runs in the quarter-final against MAM. Sahek was also influential in applying the brakes on the opposition and could play a key role in the semi-final too.
Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper
GOC all-rounder Mahib Shahin is a great pick for this category. Not only does he open the batting, Shahin also bowls his full quota of two overs to good effect. He took 2/24 in the quarter-final against JON and will be looking to repeat his heroics once again in the semis.
ARI wicket-keeper Nusratullah Sultan is a perfect choice for this category. He scored a half-century against MAM and has been quite impressive behind the stumps too.
