The beginning of the 13th edition of the Indian T20 League has provided a massive push to the online gaming platforms. Amongst the lot is a certain app named Rooter, which has recorded a significant expansion in the number of their users, and the global pandemic has further acted as a catalyst as they aim to reach the figure of 10 million active users by the end of the cash-rich T20 extravaganza.

Rooter acts as a platform for the fans where they can get their voices heard, providing them with the feature of live audio and video content across several sports and even gaming. Piyush, CEO and the founder of Rooter, says the app has registered 'an amazing growth' post-pandemic.

“Once it was announced we started focusing on providing the scorecard in 10 Indian languages with detailed data so that it will help users play around the fantasy industry. The company will also launch the Call of Duty League on the platform by this month's end. We have also entered into a strategic partnership with Paytm First Games, where both the companies will collaborate to grow the cricket, fantasy sports, esports and gaming ecosystem by creating integration across gaming and content,” he said.

Rooter, earlier in the year, had a figure of 2.5 million active users (per months), but as the pandemic brought the sporting action to a standstill, the figure saw a significant drop to 1.2 million. By August, however, they reached 4.2 million monthly users and are aiming to reach 6.5 by the end of September, and 10 million by the end of the Indian T20 League in early November.
