The Netherlands Under-19 cricket team will host Sweden, Germany and Denmark in a six-game Euro Under-19 Quadrangular Series 2022 cricket tournament from Tuesday, July 19 to Thursday, July 21.
The cricket tournament will serve as a warm-up for the four teams ahead of the ICC U19 World Cup Europe Division 2 series in August 2022.
The Netherlands U19 cricket team, then captained by Boris Gorlee, and Denmark had initially qualified for the Division 1 qualifiers in the 2020 edition of the ICC U19 World Cup Europe qualifiers.
The Dutch topped the Division 2 Group B standings, which included Denmark, Norway, Belgium and Spain, with four successive victories. Denmark, meanwhile, joined the Netherlands in Division 1 as they won the third-place play-off in the Division 2 qualifiers against Guernsey.
But, in their Division 1 qualifiers, the Netherlands and Denmark would secure a fourth and fifth-place finish as Scotland won the Division 1 qualifiers and qualified for the ICC U19 World Cup 2020 in South Africa.
The Euro Under-19 Quadrangular Series 2022 will be a 50-overs cricket tournament with each team playing the other three sides once. The team with the most points at the end of the tournament will be the winners. In case there is a tie of points, the side with the best run rate will return home with the trophy.
All matches of the Euro Under-19 Quadrangular Series 2022 will be played at the Sportpark Harga in Schiedam, Netherlands.
