After clinching the T20I series 2-1, the England women’s cricket team will host New Zealand women in a five-match ODI series starting on Thursday, September 16.

Led by Heather Knight, the hosts dominated the White Ferns in cricket’s shortest format and will look to continue their winning momentum in the upcoming ODI series.

England have added the experienced duo Kate Cross and Lauren Winfield-Hill in their 15-member squad. They have also included opening batter Danni Wyatt who was dropped from the 50-over series against India.

The hosts have also called up off-spinner Charlie Dean on the back of her incredible performances in the 100-ball tournament.

"We're really looking forward to the series. It's a great test for us, and five more important ODIs ahead of the ICC Women's World Cup next year. It's a very busy schedule and we'll need to work hard throughout it to ensure players are in the best position to get through it, and it may well be that we need to manage the group in order to do that,” England women’s team head coach Lisa Keightley said ahead of the series.

On the other hand, the New Zealand women’s cricket team received a massive boost as regular captain Sophie Devine returned to the national team after pulling out of the Australia tour earlier in the year.

However, the White Ferns will miss the services of all-rounder Amelia Kerr who has opted out of England limited-over series citing her mental health and well-being.
