Although India women managed to salvage some pride by winning the final ODI at Worcester, the tourists will be disappointed with their series loss to England women. That said, both teams will now shift their focus towards the upcoming three-match T20I series which will get underway on July 9 at Northampton.

India women’s team will be without experienced cricketers Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami, who retired from T20 internationals a few years ago. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the side in the T20I series and Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy.

Besides the experience of Harmanpreet and Mandhana, the tourists will also rely on the likes of Shafali Verma and Shikha Pandey

Meanwhile, the hosts have included Danni Wyatt in their T20 squad after being initially ignored for the one-off Test and the three-match ODI series. Mady Villiers has also been added to the squad. However, experienced cricketers Kate Cross and Lauren Winfield-Hill have been dropped from the T20I side.

Heading into the T20I series, England will be pinning their hopes on skipper Heather Knight, Sophie Ecclestone, Tammy Beaumont and Anya Shrubsole, all of whom were impressive in the recently concluded ODI series.
