After inflicting a 3-0 whitewash upon visitors Pakistan in the ODI series, the England cricket team will now face them in a three-match T20I series starting from July 16, Friday, at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The hosts head into the T20I series brimming with confidence, especially after their hard-fought three-wicket win over Pakistan in the third and final ODI. After Pakistan had posted a massive 332-run target, England rode on James Vince's century and Lewis Gregory's timely 77-run knock to chase it down in 48 overs.

England will see the return of their limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan for the T20I series after he, along with some white-ball regulars, had to enter self-isolation following a Covid-19 outbreak prior to the ODI series.

Apart from the return of big names like Morgan and Jos Buttler, top performers from the ODI series like Gregory, Jake Ball, Saqib Mahmood and Matt Parkinson will also be in the 16-man T20I squad. Ben Stokes, however, has been rested.

Pakistan’s T20I squad was headlined by the maiden call-up of Azam Khan, son of former Pakistan captain Moin Khan. He, along with Imad Wasim, have been named for Pakistan’s three T20I matches against England and five against West Indies.
