A confident England cricket team (ENG) take on New Zealand (NZ) in the third and the final Test of the three-match series at Headingley Carnegie in Leeds, starting Thursday, June 23. The match will start at 3:30 PM IST (Indian Standard Time).

ENG vs NZ Dream11 prediction

Having won two of the three matches already, the Ben Stokes-led England have the series in the bag. Unlike the visiting team, the Three Lions have put on a collective effort so far, but things could go south in the third Test after illness recently affected the home team’s camp.

Batting coach Marcus Trescothick has returned a positive COVID-19 test while captain Ben Stokes was absent from training with an unspecified illness. Reports have it that the all-rounder tested COVID negative on Tuesday and will not test again unless he develops the symptoms.

However, England have enough firepower in their arsenal to complete a clean sweep against New Zealand, who have looked rather lacklustre throughout the series.

ENG vs NZ Dream11 for the 3rd Test

Top tip: Best batter

With 305 runs in four innings, former England captain Joe Root is averaging 101.66 in the series. The 31-year-old has scored a century in each of the last two Tests while returning with a tally of 395 fantasy points, the most by any batter involved in the upcoming match. He is a strong recommendation for this contest.

Top tip: Best bowler

Despite the series featuring the likes of James Anderson and Stuart Broad, New Zealand veteran Trent Boult has managed to top the wicket-taking charts in two Tests with 12 scalps. The 32-year-old was particularly impressive in the previous Test where he finished with a tally of eight wickets. Hence, it comes as no surprise that 94.74 per cent of fantasy users have decided to add him to their teams.

Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper

Tournament’s top run-scorer Daryl Mitchell is an outright pick for an all-rounder. The 31-year-old Kiwi has scored two tons and a half-century in his last four innings and is averaging an impressive 124.33. While he hasn’t really bowled much, his return with the bat has benefitted the fantasy managers a lot.

For a wicket-keeper, New Zealand’s Tom Blundell would be our safest bet given the 31-year-old has been more consistent than England’s Jonny Bairstow. Blundell has scored 240 runs in four innings which includes a ton and a half-century. Add to that the nine catches and one stumping, the 31-year-old is the highest-scoring keeper with 376 fantasy points.

ENG vs NZ probable playing XI

ENG playing XI (probable): Alex Lees, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (captain), Ben Foakes (wicket-keeper), Matty Potts, Jack Leach, Stuart Broad, James Anderson

NZ playing XI (probable): Tom Latham, Will Young, Devon Conway, Kane Williamson (captain), Henry Nicholls, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Blundell (wicket-keeper), Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee, Matt Henry, Trent Boult
