Durham secured victory against Notts by seven wickets

Durham ended Nottinghamshire’s winning streak by securing a seven-wicket win at the Rothesay County Championship Division match last May 19, 2025, at Chester-le-Street. Durham needed 91 runs from 18 overs and reached the target with 10 balls remaining, giving Nottinghamshire their first loss of the season.
This win pushed Durham towards fourth place in the table with 80 points. While this win helped Durham boost their rankings, Nottinghamshire’s previous excellence kept their position at the top with 96 points.
Nottinghamshire's first innings totalled 407, with almost half of it claimed by captain Haseeb Hameed's unbeaten 206. Durham, on the other hand, responded with a record 664, featuring centuries from Emilio Gay (104), Ollie Robinson (141), and Graham Clark (121).
In their second innings, Nottinghamshire scored 347 runs, with Joe Clarke contributing 119. Chasing a target of 91 runs, Durham started slowly and lost two early wickets. However, Colin Ackermann stayed strong with an unbeaten 53, helping the team win.
