Dindigul Dragons (DD) will square off against Nellai Royal Kings (NRK) in Qualifier 2 of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023 at Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu on Monday, July 10. The match will start at 7:15 PM IST (Indian Standard Time).

Led by captain Baba Indrajith, Dindigul Dragons will look to bounce back after losing to defending champions Lyca Kovai Kings by 30 runs in the first qualifier.

On the other hand, the Arun Karthik-led Nellai Royal Kings will be brimming with confidence after beating Siechem Madurai Panthers by four runs in a nail-biting Eliminator.

The winner of the Dindigul Dragons vs Nellai Royal Kings Qualifier 2 match will face Lyca Kovai Kings in the TNPL 2023 final on July 12 at the same venue.

Dindigul Dragons beat Nellai Royal Kings by seven wickets in their previous meeting in the ongoing TNPL.

However, NRK have an edge over DD in the recent head-to-head record, winning two of the last three matches between them over the last two years.

Going by this season’s form and recent meeting, Dindigul Dragons will start as favourites against Nellai Royal Kings in the Qualifier 2 on Monday.

The 20-year-old smashed a 30-ball 50 to help his side register a thrilling win over Siechem Madurai Panthers in the TNPL 2023 Eliminator. Guruswamy has already amassed 311 runs in eight matches at an impressive average of 62.20. Having already accumulated 510 fantasy points, Guruswamy could be a great pick at 8 credits for the second qualifier.

In the bowling department, Dindigul Dragons’ Suboth Bhati will be the overwhelming choice for the upcoming TNPL 2023 fixture. The right-arm pacer is the joint leading wicket-taker in the ongoing T20 tournament, having bagged 15 wickets in eight matches at an average of 15.80. Bhati has already accrued 616 fantasy points and is a must-have fantasy pick at 9 credits.

Among the all-rounders on display, NRK’s Sonu Yadav could be a wise fantasy pick at 9 credits. Sonu Yadav has picked up seven wickets in TNPL 2023 at an economy of eight runs per over. For the wicket-keeper spot, DD captain Baba Indrajith pips Rithik Easwaran of NRK.  Apart from being a safe keeper behind the stumps, Baba Indrajith has been one of the standout batters in the ongoing tournament. The 29-year-old has scored 214 runs in eight matches at an average of 53.50 and a strike rate of 139.87. Since the departure of Ravichandran Ashwin for the West Indies series, stand-in captain Indrajith will also aim to guide the Dragons to the TNPL 2023 final. Indrajith has already racked up 399 fantasy points and will be a quality investment at 9 credits.
