Colombo had a good outing in the inaugural edition LPL, finishing as the dominant side in the league phase with six wins from eight outings. On the other hand, Galle Gladiators had a contrasting season, losing their first four games before eventually getting on a winning spree. They managed to make it to the final but suffered a heavy loss to Jaffna in the title triumph.

The 37-year-old has plenty of experience playing T20 cricket around the globe and will be expected to play a key role in his side’s vital game against Colombo Stars.
Amongst the wicket-keepers, GG’s Sarfaraz Ahmed is the best option. The right-hander has the ability to mix caution with aggression and will be expected to anchor the Gladiators batting.
