Southampton have set up a title clash with Birmingham for the inaugural crown of The 100-ball League men’s competition 2021 at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Saturday, August 21.

Birmingham were the first team to qualify for the final after getting past Leeds, courtesy an unbeaten 40-ball 92 blitzkrieg by stand-in skipper Liam Livingstone

Southampton got the better of Nottingham with a fair amount of ease in the eliminator as they galloped to a seven-wicket win under the leadership of James Vince.

Moeen Ali will be back from national duty to lead Birmingham with a considerable gap between the second and the third Tests against India. His addition will be a great boost to the side due to his all-round skills.

Southampton had a rocky start to the season with two consecutive defeats but they got their campaign back on track with six consecutive wins. They edged out Birmingham by four wickets earlier in the tournament to record their first win of the season.

Birmingham's Liam Livingstone is the tournament’s highest run-scorer having racked up 302 runs in eight innings and has also been handy with the ball on a number of occasions. Their bowling unit is on fire with the likes of Imran Tahir and Adam Milne in their ranks.

Southampton have some leading names in the tournament as well. Skipper James Vince is third on the run charts with 225 runs in eight innings and in Quinton de Kock, they have a quality top-order wicketkeeper-batsman. With the ball, Tymal Mills has been exceptional at the death alongside specialist Chris Jordan.
