The Big Bash League 2022 draft was held on August 28.

The draft saw a total of 332 overseas players going under the hammer, with the likes of Liam Livingstone, Andre Russell, Rashid Khan and Kieron Pollard being a few of the bigger names that were involved.

Livingstone, as matter of fact, was the first pick of the first-ever BBL draft while Rashid Khan was the first player to be retained. Adelaide Strikers used their retention pick to keep the Afghanistan spin wizard.

Trent Boult (Melbourne Stars), Sam Billings (Brisbane Heat), Chris Jordan (Sydney Sixers), David Willey (Sydney Thunder) and Shadab Khan (Hobart Hurricanes) were the remaining platinum picks from the first round.

Players in the BBL 2022 draft were selected across four different salary bands with only the 12 platinum (AUD 340,000) players allowed to be selected in round one.

The players in the platinum and gold (AUD 260,000) category would be up for grabs in round two. The players in the gold and silver (AUD 175,000) category were up for grabs in round three and lastly, silver and bronze (AUD 100,000) players were up for bids in round four.

Each team can have a squad of up to 18 players in it. Here are what the squads for the teams look like so far following the Big Bash League 2022 draft.
