The India women’s cricket team will square off against Bangladesh in a three-match T20 international series starting on Sunday, July 9 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
India Women have announced their 18-member squad for the T20I series to be led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, fast bowlers Renuka Singh, Shikha Pandey, left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad and all-rounder Sneh Rana have been left out of the India Women T20I squad.
Uma Chetry, an uncapped young wicketkeeper-batter from Assam, has been added to the T20I squad in absence of Richa Ghosh.
Left-arm spinners Anusha Bareddy, Rashi Kanojiya and Kerala all-rounder Minnu Mani have also earned their maiden India call-up.
The likes of Sabbineni Meghana, Meghna Singh, Monica Patel and Anjali Sarvani have been included in the T20I squad for the Bangladesh tour.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh’s Women cricket team has also named their 16-member squad for the three-match series.
Led by wicketkeeper-batter Nigar Sultana Joty, experienced spinner Salma Khatun has returned to the Bangladesh Women T20I squad after being rested for the Sri Lanka series. Dilara Akter and Marufa Akter have also made a return to the T20I squad.
Bangladesh have also included uncapped opening batter Shathi Rani for the India series.
However, the hosts have dropped veterans Jahanara Alam and Fargana Hoque for the upcoming T20I series.
All three T20Is of India Women tour of Bangladesh 2023 will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
