Table-toppers Bangalore take on sixth-placed Rajasthan in match 16 of the Indian T20 League 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, April 22.
The Virat Kohli-led side has been on a roll, winning all the three matches they have played so far. This is the first instance where Bangalore have won their first three matches of an Indian T20 League season.
For the franchise, new recruit Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers have been the players who have excelled with the bat so far. Bangalore will further hope that their captain Virat Kohli can convert his starts to a big one.
The Bangalore bowling department has been equally impressive, with pacer Harshal Patel currently holding the purple cap with nine wickets. Furthermore, Harshal and Mohammed Siraj boast economy rates of 5.75 and 5.81, respectively.
On the other hand, Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan have won just one of their opening three matches in the tournament.
The form of Samson has been a bit of a concern for the Rajsthan side. After smashing a scintillating hundred in their season opener, the 26-year-old has been dismissed cheaply in the last two matches.
Injuries to their two top overseas players - Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes - have massively impacted the Rajasthan side. Additionally, another foreign player Liam Livingstone has left the squad due to bio-bubble fatigue.
Rajasthan will hope the likes of Jos Buttler, David Miller and Chris Morris can raise their game to help the team secure their second win against Bangalore on Thursday.
