The Australia women’s national cricket team will host South Africa Women in a three-match one-day international (ODI) series starting on Saturday, February 3.

The upcoming ODI series is part of the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25, which is being contested by 10 teams to determine qualification for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 to be held in India.

Defending ODI world champions Australia are currently placed second in the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25 standings with 18 points from 12 matches.

Australia Women and South Africa Women will face off in the 50-over format of the game after a long gap of 21 months. The two sides last competed in an ODI as part of the League Stage of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 hosted in New Zealand. Riding on Meg Lanning’s century, Australia Women won that match by five wickets.

Meanwhile, the Alyssa Healy-led hosts will head into the ODI series brimming with confidence after securing a 2-1 victory over the Proteas in the recently-concluded T20I series.

Ahead of the ODI series, Australia have already announced their 15-member squad. All-rounder Alana King, who was not picked in the T20I squad, will return to the ODI squad in place of Grace Harris. Bowler Megan Schutt is set to play her 200th International across formats, becoming only the sixth Australian women to do so.

On the other hand, the South Africa women’s national cricket team will aim to bounce back in the 50-over format under captain Laura Wolvaardt.

Having accumulated 18 points from 12 matches, South Africa are currently leading the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25 standings with nine wins and three losses.

Furthermore, South Africa Women will take confidence after registering their first-ever win against Australia Women in any format in the T20I series.

As per the Australia Women vs South Africa Women ODI 2024 schedule, the first game will be played at the Adelaide Oval on February 3 before the two sides travel to Sydney to play the second match at the North Sydney Oval on February 7.

The third and final ODI is scheduled to be hosted at the W.A.C.A. Ground in Perth on February 10.
