The Indian women’s cricket team will take on Australia women in the 2nd T20I at the Carrara Oval in Queensland on Saturday, October 9.
The first T20I between the two teams was washed out due to rain but saw some quality batting performances from the Indian eves. India had crossed the 130-run mark within 15 overs with Jemimah Rodrigues missing out on her half-century by a single run. The 21-year-old batter was unbeaten and finished a run short of scoring her seventh half-century in T20Is due to rain.
It is unfortunate but the first #AUSvIND T20I has been abandoned due to rain. Both teams get a point each.— BCCI Women (@BCCIWomen) October 7, 2021

The likes of Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma scored quickfire runs too. The latter, in fact, hit three sixes during her short stay at the crease.
As for Australia, Ashleigh Gardner was the most successful bowler as she claimed two wickets while conceding 28 runs in three overs. The hosts currently leads the multi-format series 7-5 on points but India will have the opportunity of bringing the series back on level terms with a win on Saturday.
Even though the rain gods played spoilsport in the first, there was plenty of action to suggest that the second T20I will make for a good watch. Conditions will be tricky and it will be interesting to see how the Harmanpreet Singh-led team will adapt to it.
