The Andhra Pradesh League 2023 will start on Saturday, June 17 and run till Sunday, July 2.

Organised by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA), the Andhra Premier League (APL) is a T20 tournament that made its successful debut last year.

The ACA has announced that one more franchise will be added to the inaugural six teams for APL 2023 season, making it a seven-team affair. However, the name of the seventh team is yet to be announced by the state board.

Bezawada Tigers, Coastal Riders, Godavari Titans, Uttarandhra Lions, Rayalaseema Kings and Vizag Warriors were the six teams that participated in the inaugural edition of the T20 tournament.

As per the schedule, each team will play the other six teams in a round-robin format in this 20-over-per-side. A total of 21 matches will be played in the league phase of the competition. The top four teams in the standings will then qualify for the APL 2023 playoffs and battle for the coveted trophy.

All matches of APL 2023 will be hosted by Visakhapatnam and Kadapa.

Coastal Riders are the defending champions of Andhra Premier League, having defeated Bezawada Tigers by seven runs in the 2022 final.

“We are thrilled to announce the launch of the second season of Andhra Premier League. After the huge success of our inaugural season, we have raised the bar higher this year. We added one new team to the league, which will make it even more competitive and exciting,” ACA secretary Gopinath Reddy said at the launch of APL Season 2.
