Following a 2-1 ODI series win over Afghanistan, Bangladesh now play host to the Mohammad Nabi-led side in a two-match T20I series, starting Thursday, March 3. Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur will host both matches.
Unlike the ODI series, Bangladesh will be led by Mahmudullah in the two T20Is. Afghanistan, on the other hand, will see a change in captaincy. While Hashmat Shahidi acted as captain in the 50-over format, Mohammad Nabi will take over the reins this time.
Bangladesh vs Afghanistan T20Is head-to-head record
Afghanistan taking on Bangladesh in the shortest format has always been a worthy watch, to say the very least. The two teams have played a total of six T20I matches in the past and the Afghans hold an upper hand with four wins and two losses.
During these six matches, Mahmudullah has excelled, scoring 138 runs. Even though he hasn’t hit any half-century or a ton in that time, Mahmudullah has played quite a few noteworthy knocks like an important 38-ball 45 in 2018. In fact, only two half-centuries have been scored in these six meetings with Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Nabi hitting one each.
As far as bowling is concerned, while Rashid Khan did not really have a great time in the 50-overs series, he has loved bowling against Bangladesh in the shortest format, picking 12 wickets in five outings.
