Afghanistan play Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series starting Wednesday, February 23. All matches in the series will be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

Bangladesh team, led by Tamim Iqbal will be playing their first ODI match since July 2021. They have included four uncapped players - Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Yasir Ali, Nasum Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain - for the upcoming ODI series.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan senior all-rounder Mohammad Nabi makes a return into the ODI setup. The 37-year-old last played an ODI match for the Afghans against Ireland in January 2021. For the upcoming series against Bangladesh, Afghanistan have named a relatively young squad that will be captained by southpaw Hashmatullah Shahidi.

"The selectors have included some young faces to the ODI line up which is a good sign for us, as we are leading into the World Cup next year. The three ODIs are important for us and I am sure the squad carries enough strength to do well when they get to the field,'' Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) chairman Mirwais Ashraf said in a statement.

The three ODI match series will be followed by a two-match T20I series.
