The player draft for Abu Dhabi T10 Season 5 will be held on Thursday, October 7. The draft process will be streamed on Abu Dhabi T10 League’s official youtube channel, T10 League Official.
After the successful completion of the previous edition of the tournament amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in February 2021, six teams will gear up to build their squad for the upcoming season of the league.
Season 5 of the Abu Dhabi T10 League will start from November 19 with the final scheduled to take place on December 4.
Launched in 2017, the Abu Dhabi T10 League is the only International Cricket Council (ICC) sanctioned 10-over tournament in the world.
Northern Warriors are the defending champions of the Abu Dhabi T10 League. They beat the Delhi Bulls in the Season 4 final to win their second title.
The other two teams to win the Abu Dhabi T10 League title are Season 3 champions Maratha Arabians and Kerala Kings, who were the winners of the inaugural edition.
With Kerala Kings no longer a participant, Bangla Tigers, Deccan Gladiators and Team Abu Dhabi are the other Season 5 sides that make up the six-team tournament.
West Indies international and former Northern Warriors captain Nicholas Pooran won the player of the series award in the previous edition of the tournament. The southpaw ended the season with 243 runs in nine innings, which included 26 towering sixes.
Other top players like Chris Gayle, Imran Tahir, Dwayne Bravo and Luke Wright have featured in the tournament in the past.
Ahead of the player draft, Deccan Gladiators have named West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell as their icon player while retaining Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, England speedster Tymal Mills and UAE fast bowler Zahoor Khan in their squad.

There will be no telecast for Abu Dhabi T10 player draft in India.
